Vettaiyan OTT Release: After a successful run in theatres, Rajinikanth starrer action drama movie will soon debut on OTT.
Released on Oct 10, 2024, Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan is having a strong run at the box office. Despite low pre-release buzz compared to his previous movies, Vettaiyan recorded good numbers at the box office both domestically and internationally. The film has so far netted Rs 110 cr all-India nett. Vettaiyan has once again underlined the box office power of Rajinikanth’s stardom. The movie opened in theatres on Thursday to packed houses, with early morning shows starting as early as 4 AM, even outside Tamil Nadu.

When And Where To Watch Vettaiyan On OTT?
The streaming rights for Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest movie Vettaiyan have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. According to industry trends, the film is likely to become available for streaming after completing a four-week theatrical run. The is a possibility that it will be released on Prime Video in the second week of November.
As per a report by Daily Thanthi, Prime Video has purchased the OTT rights for the film for an impressive ₹90 crore. It’s worth mentioning that Rajinikanth’s previous movie, Jailer, is also available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Vettaiyan Movie Details
The central plot of Vettaiyan revolves around the flaws in the education system and issues surrounding fake encounters. Backed by Lyca Productions, the movie is directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. Vettaiyan was released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada on October 10.
Vettaiyan features stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, and Rana Daggubati in key roles. The movie has been written and directed by TJ Gnanavel. The music score of the film has been given by Anirudh Ravichander.

In its first weekend, Vettaiyan earned ₹189 crore globally. With Monday’s collections, it’s expected to touch the ₹200 crore mark worldwide. Currently, it holds the spot as the second-highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2024, behind Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time, which made ₹451 crore globally. Vettaiyan is already among the top 25 highest-grossing Tamil movies of all time and is now aiming to surpass Vijay’s Master, which grossed ₹230 crore worldwide.
